I have a 2007 GT500 and during hard acceleration, I experience massive wheel hop. This wheel hot feels like the car is going to fall apart LOL! Who has options on how to solve this issue and how will the resolution impact my daily driving. Please offer recommendated manufacture parts, cost, ease of installation, and drive harshness changes w/ the new vs old components. I want to solve this issue and the other Shelby owners can help me with their previous knowledge.
Very common and much info out there on this. I suggest you do a search on various forums related, make some popcorn and sit back and read a while.
There are many things you can do to solve the problem. Some do lower control arms, some do upper and lower control arms, some change the bushings.........etc. J&M, Roush and Steeda are some of the companies that come to mind. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/in...nsion-parts-and-upgrades/page__hl__suspension
If you are experiencing this wheel hop at intersections in town the fix is very easy. Just install a little sanity in the driver's seat. It's totally free of charge. At the drag strip???? there is a suspension upgrade for about 8 thousand dollars that will fix the hop. It's your choice.
Ahh, why buy an awsome GT500 if you can't have fun with it. What does Carrol say, "get in your car and drive it!". We only have a few years left on this rock and we need to enjoy our time or what is left of it LOL What type of Shelby do you own and have you given thought to any modifications?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I have a 2009 gt500 ,,,the only mod is that sanity I spoke of earlier. Mine is a driver when ever as I am retired and I enjoy every minute of it.
not original equipment but check out Cal Track or competition engineering I have the competition engineering on my 67 347 stroker no wheel hop it preloads the springs. good luck
steeda adj. upper control arm, and billet aluminum lower control arms, steeda pan hard brace and pan hard bar. bingo problems are gone. steeda products always deliver, they have never failed to deliver yet.
