50 MPG HWY on the 024 Miser? Wow. Shelby did it right, my '85 Charger was a 5.0 killer for sure and with 1/2 of the cylinders.
Great article. My twin brother and I had an idea way back in 1986. He bought a 1986 Daytona TurboZ brand new. A couple of years later I bought a very nice 1985 Shelby Charger. Around 2003 I bought another 1986 Shelby Charger. I sold the first one. The one I bought in 03 was the giveaway car at the 2001 Chrysler's at Carlisle show. I bought it with just 16K original miles. My brother had his TurboZ tucked away in his garage all these years only allowed out for some shows and cruises over the years. Back in there early years the two cars hardly got a second look. They were not RWD, big V8 muscle cars. Now when we take them to a show or cruise his 7000 mile Daytona and my 17K 86' Shelby Charger get plenty of second looks and we hear nothing but praises on how great our cars look. In the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to win a best original award with mine and my brother won a Best Of Show with his car. My advice is if you find a really nice Turbo Dodge buy it. I don't see them going into the six figure scale , but I don't think lower to mid Five figures is out of the question.
At the risk of sounding dumb I'm fairly new here. How do I upload pics on this forum? If you go to www.ohioconcours.com there is one pic of my Charger. Click on Gallery. then click 2005 concours d elagance. A list of classes will come up. Click on shelby other and there is a pic of my 86' Charger. I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge. I think my brother is on the forum. Iwill tell him to post a couple of pics of his.
