This past Friday I bought a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT. It looks great and is in near perfect condition. From sitting on the dealers lot for several weeks the silver stripes have some water spotting on them. I'm just wondering what you guys use on your stripes to keep them looing good. This car is awesome and looks great sitting next to my 17K mile 1986 Dodge Shelby Charger.

One of my side stripes is starting to pick off on my Shelby rear passenger quarter some chipping of the stripe.

Other than that they look great. I wonder how hard it is just to de stripe the car but I don't know if I would regret that and it is still under warranty for what that is worth.

A product called "Plexus" has kept the silver stripes on my '07 SGT looking like new. I provided information about this product on the posting entitled "07 Shelby GT Stripes". Hope this helps, Russ

Thanks Russ. I ordered a can of Plexus from a local cycle shop. Mine have a few spots but still look pretty good. Whats the best way to apply the product?

The product comes in an aerosol can. I sprayed the Plexus directly onto the stripes and then wiped the stripes with a clean terry cloth towel. The Plexus does not harm the paint, so don't be afraid if you spray some on your paint. I did use the product in the shade when it was cool. I hope this helps, and good luck. Russ
