This is my first 289 Cobra, CSX 2401, pictured here at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), where Carroll Shelby won the inaugural race many years ago. The car is shod with original magnesium American Racing spline drive wheels, a rare option for the cars. It has a race prepped engine, with 48IDA Webers. The original matching number engine sits on a stand beside the car in the garage, since I would hate to put a rod through that block! I will probably begin a refurbishing of the car in the next few months or weeks, since it was last painted over 15 years ago and it has seen lots of track time and back country roads in the interval.
Here are a couple of views of the Weber equipped engine, with over 400HP.Edelbrock RPM aluminum heads. 347 Stroker.
If I am not mistaken, this is a picture of CSX7000 before the body was installed..... I might actually be CSX7001... I am not 100% sure
