67 GT350 tires

    I have a 67GT350 driver that I am getting running. My question is what is the best size radial to put on the stock wheels. The E-70-15 was stock which would cross over to a 215-70r15. I was thinking about 2356015 all around. Anybody have any experience here?

    With my 10 spokes, I have 215/65, which are close to stock size. My track tires on the Torque Thrust D's are 225/60R15. You can see what they both look like on my cardomain webpage,


    225 is a bit big looking but I wanted that for the track, the 216/65's look just right. I have stock Koni shocks with Contour springs on the front, stock leaf spring in the rear.

    Nice looking car. I just got mine. It looks just like yours. When I figure out how to post pictures I will put one up. Did it come with the chrome air cleaner? Mine has a oval one?

    Round chrome, think there is an engine shot or two on my cardomain page. I have one I use for driving with a K&N filter, and one for shows with the OEM style element. The oval style was for 67 GT500's and both 68 GT350/500 cars as far as I know, but it's your car, use whatever style you like.

    I also use a Goodyear P215/65R-15...which is very close to the orig size....these cars cannot handle a very wide tire due to the front fenders....
    I own Car #130...GT350/paxton

    #2737 has 215/60 radials. It gives it a nice low stance. Track tires are Hoosier race radials and are 225/55s and barely clear stock fender wells.

    I have 225 60 15's BF Goodrich radial TA's on all 4 corners of my 67 GT 350 mounted on 15x7 American Racing Torque Thrust D's. My A arms have been dropped 1" and have 1" lowering springs. I have plenty of clearance (no rubbing whatsoever) and it looks great.

    I am running 235-60-15 Eagle's on 10 spoke's all the way around with all original suspension. No rubbing or clearance problem's. The tire's fill the well's up giving the car a very aggressive look. HTH. Frank,

    On a '68 GT350, would 245's, or even 255's, on all four corners be out of the question when using 15" 10 spokes or Magstars?

    i think the stock tire is like a 205 series. a 245 will take your fender moldings off a 68 and probably bend your fenders

    I use Good Year 235/60-15 on my 67. Was running Dunlop 245/60-15 before and
    they rub at the front fenders.

    Might as well get it going again anyway. If anyone is bemoaning the lack of tire selection, consider getting Avon tires. The CR6ZZ are a racing compound tire that are DOT approved for street use. They have a great vintage looking tread and a fantastIc traction that has to be experienced to be believed. Down side: pricey at $350+ per tire and very soft so they don't last long. But Shelby's deserve them.

    As I posted on another tread, I have 235R60-15s on my '67 with rolled fender lips. They work out fairly well except when the rear is heavily loaded (passengers). I removed my rear seat and replaced it with a '66 rear package tray to reduce the weight back there. No issues now.
