New here, and don't have a Shelby--yet. I had an appointment with SAI yesterday to convert my 2008 Mustang GT convertible to a Shelby Supercharged. I never knew they offered this service, and am thrilled at the prospect!
Well, I dropped off my Mustang at SAI on Thursday April 22, and went into the hospital the next day for almost 2 weeks, got home last night. I haven't gotten my CSM number yet, but expect it any day now. Something to really look forward to as I recover from my surgery! I thought I had a real cherry car, but Shelby's prep guy went over it with a fine-toothed comb and pointed out stone chips I swear weren't on it the day before! Body's perfect, just a few chips, and one scratch on the hood that will be replaced anyway. Here's the before pictures: Really looking forward to the after pix!
I stopped by SAI this morning, since I was in Vegas for a doc's appointment anyway. I wanted to see what progress had been made on my car, and from outward appearances there has been none. I'm still in a cast, so clomping around the shop wasn't welcomed, and I only saw her broadside from about 100 feet away. I did get my CSM# though, 08SC0023. Not a lot of demand for this package, apparently?
My tune was inadvertently shipped to my house rather than SAI, so I took the opportunity to deliver it and check on any further progress. There's been quite a bit. All that's left (aside from tuning) is install the wheels, front clip, hood and vinyl. Love those brakes! So far, still on schedule despite the tune's detour.
I finally got the call I've been waiting for--my car will be ready for my to pick up on Wednesday! When I saw the caller ID, I was both bummed and excited. If he told me it was ready, I wouldn't have been able to get there until Monday, which would've made for a very long weekend. More pix to come, of course...
Steve M from Shelby called me this afternoon, everything is a go for tomorrow. I've got physical therapy first thing, should be on the road by 9:00 AM, two-hour drive from here. Finally getting a bit excited about it, 3 months seems like a long time!
