Hi everyone. I'm new here....be gentle :evo:

I'm trying to learn about '69 GT500s. I'm working on one and have a couple suspension questions.

    1) "Competition suspension"... were all '69 Shelbys built with this or was it a stand-alone, orderable option? What features did it include?

    2) Were the F60x15 tires part of the competition suspension option? Seems like every '69 GT500 pic I see (and the car I am working on) has 'em.....but I gather that E70x15 was technically the standard issue size, right?

    Thank for any help

    Doug

The tires were more of a timing thing that came in April when the cars got equipped with the larger suspension. This is also when shock color changed over as well. The cars with the big spindles got the F 60s with the exception of some Hertz 350s

Ok, thanks. This car has a 1-31-69 date code. I guess I should expect the "small suspension" then.

    Thanks
