Does anyone know what the serial/VIN numbers are for the Unique Performance Shelby Mustangs? I know the guys at Unique got in trouble for altering VIN numbers because they were eliminating the original Ford VIN numbers and issuing a new VIN. At least I think that is what they were doing. Anyway, is there a Shelby serial number in addition to the new VIN or just a new VIN? How are they numbered?

Can anyone clarify for me please?

Feel free to correct me if I made a mistake.

    Thanks,
    Randall

I thought they got in trouble for transferring vin numbers from rusted hulks to clean bodied cars that they did not have titles for. Not sure, just what someone told me. I think they used the actual Ford issued vin's on the cars though.

Here is the vin plate from a GT350SR they made, despite its current high performance engine the car still has the C code vin number. I do believe they had a separate Shelby number under the hood though.

I doubt buyers of these cars would have cared what the original VIN was, if the cars had been delivered.

IIRC, UP was using convicts on work release to prep the cars- Perhaps removing VIN's was just in their nature.

On a side note, it seems to me grade 8 bolts on a window riser are a bit of overkill.

Neat they made up their own codes for the reproduction tags!

Yeah, I did not notice the DSO, trans code and well I guess all the codes other than the actual vin are unique.

    New member here:
I was takings some photos of my friends Gt500 E from Unique.
The VIN on the left fender apron was covered by a Unique Badge, with the cars VIN stamped in that. I have some pics at home.
    Thanks
