I picked up a new blue with silver Shelby in Toronto. It's like a mid life crisis but it is an amazing car. Unfortunately with 850 km on it the drive shaft yoke separated from the drive train and punched a hole in the under carriage. The dealer says it appears that all the bolts were not in the yoke coming from the factory.

The dealer is working on the component replacement and discussing the repairs to the floor. It sounds really ugly but I am still pumped about the car. Thats the impact this Shelby has had on me.

First off, welcome to the Forum. Sorry to hear about your issue. Sounds like the Dealer is working on getting it fixed.

Are you hoping they give you another car, or are you confident they will can fix it?

I have to take mine in on Sat as well, for a lose trim piece and a noise coming from the rear end, when I turn, driving slowly.

I don't know much about the process for getting a new car. The dealer is fixing the hole and I guess we will have to see how that works out. They are replacing the drive shaft and shifter mechanism and then taking it for a test drive to determine if the tranny was affected. Since it appeared to be in two gears at once I am kind of concerned about the health of the transmission.

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark. I think I'd be inclined to ask for a new car. Repairs of this magnitude will show up in future paperwork, reducing your resale value.
    Welcome, from another newbie.

Yeah, stuff like that will kill your resale, i wouldnt be to happy settling for paid repairs, its good that they are adhereing to the warranty, but the cars value is gonna get a major hit even when its repaired perfectly.

Hope everything works out but welcome to the forum!

    Best,
    Vern
