Hello everyone! I have a question about 1967 Shelby interior colors. I know the majority of the cars came with black and parchment interiors, and that some of the cars had white interiors. Was it possible that any of the early cars, that did not have the interior code, have saddle interiors? I know saddle was a 68 shelby interior color. Thanks in advance!

The white and parchment are the same thing on a 67 Shelby. A footnote in the upcoming SAAC registry will also confirm this. No is the short answer on the saddle interior. Technically speaking there is always a possibility but the odds of winning the Powerball Lottery are better in this case:laf:. Bob

Lets rephrase the statement: A majority of 67 Shelbys have black interior. Some came with parchment or white. Some early models had their interior code left out of the vin. Bob And I have early model 350's. Both have black interior.

    Hi,
After thinking about this for a while, the first thing that comes to mind is to have a Marti Report done. This report will tell you the color code for the interior trim,as well as several other codes that would let you see how Ford built the car.I cannot think of any example of a 67 without a trim code in the vin that has a colored interior..and 100% agree with the group,so now may we ask you-Have you found a car like this? Or are you thinking up different possible
color combinations? The saying here is typically "extrodinary claims require some serious evidence to back them up" please keep us updated.
    Regards P.D.

Thanks everyone for your responses. In response to Patty, I am just thinking of different color combinations.
I love mustangs and Shelby's in particular. I've been even more fascinated by the hand built early cars that I choose this time to build an early 67 Shelby clone. I purchased a red 67 fastback built in San Jose and has an Oct 66 build date. I've been reading and researching Ford and Shelby production changes and have been going over the thread we have here on Shelbyforums about the changes.
As for my question that started this thread, I had thought I read somewhere that there were very few saddle interior 67 Shelbys, but it is possible I had confused 68 saddle interiors and few 67 white interior cars.
Right now I'm stuck in between choosing to do the black deluxe interior or a saddle deluxe interior with the original candy apple red color of my car.
I'm trying to keep the car true to what an early 67 Shelby would have, doesn't look like I'll be going with the saddle.

Roddster and Bob, you both have early production cars, If my car was to be sent out to Shelby American. about what number range to you think my car would be? it was an october 22 1966 build date.

    Thanks again everyone!
    Nick

#0036 was built October 9th I think. I'll have to check when I get home.

here is what you don't want to miss:

Correct rear lights in the upper scoops
No covers over the rear seat fold down latches
    One piece grill
    Metal underliner hood
    Metal underliner deck
Correct tail light fiberglass panel (there are 3)
Metal lined Gt rear valence (over the tail pipe extensions).
    Magstars
Bag for the washer fluid, not the plastic white reservior.

Your car, being an early build date, probably alread has some of this. Good luck.

As far as Shelbys go with a colored interior, I've seen one 66 that was blue with a blue interior, but, I really like the white 69's with blue stripes and a red interior. They made either 10 that way or 20.

Do you know where to get those lights for the scoops? I saw a set on eBay, I thought I read somewhere they were cheap from like JC Whitney or something?

i do have the metal frame trunk lid, but not the hood, I can get it custom made but don't have the dough to put into a hood right now.

I have the flat style tail light panel but I only thought there were two kinds. the flat and the raised. What is the third kind?

What is the metal lined valance? I thought the early valences were the standard valance with the modified 66 gt exhaust cut outs.

As for mustang production changes I do have the washer bag, fuel line that goes down the transmission tunnel, cast hinges, and early style 67 spare tire hold down and trunk hinge with torsion bar, early 67 glove box hinge and door. I'm sure there are some others, can anyone name some?

Bob and Roddster, do you have the flat type gas cap on yours or was that only the first handful of cars?

    Thanks guys

    Hi,
To answer your question about where your car would fit into the 67 production window is a no brainer.They(S.A.I.) did not build any Red cars.
Only 3 engineering cars and 1 preproduction car were painted Red in 66
All others were produced in 67 and few if any Red cars have the early features, like running lamps, flat gas caps etc.Hope this answers your questions on color/trim.

Does anyone happen to know what year ford white was used on the 1967 Shelby? The 65-66 color is actually an antique white, where as the color looks to be a bright white in the 1967 Shelby upholstery where it was covered by the trim. I had the covers installed on my seats and it doesn't match the original material. TMI supplied '66 white. It's not it.

The early 67's, up until some mid-december 1966 build date has smooth seat upholstery as the comfort weave was not available until then. What is the difference between the deluxe smooth seat upholstery and the regular, nothing, except the little chtome do-dad is on the smooth seat backs in the deluxe interior,
The "white" color is known as Wimbledon white, it is an off white shade.

October 22nd 66, Car numbers 0074 and 3-4 in the 0080's where built around that day at San Jose but, what is your point? You are building a clone, paint it red, put the saddle interior in it, built it your way....Just don't call it a Shelby.

The scoop lights can be found on Ebay once in a while, or, at truck stops. The real ones were made by the Dietz company. Now out of business - sold -bought out.

    Hello:
I would like a definitive answer if possible. The TMI 1966 white is too yellow for 1967 Shelby White. Has anyone worked with a 1967 with the white interior, if so, what white was ordered and from whom? I bought the 1966 white and just glanced at the the upholstery when it arrived. They were installed, they don't look like the white that was protected under the seat trim. Suggestions?
