Hi, Regarding the Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang convertible from Hertz, by all means if you have the chance to rent one do it! We rented two Shelby's (we took the first one back & ended up renting another for the rest of our vacation) last summer at Hertz in Orlando. As we drove men, women & children stopped, pointed & looked at this incredible machine, the sound of the engine draws a lot of attention, especially when you are sitting at a red light and power brake. We drove to Daytona while the Pepsi 400 was taking place. We drove up and down Daytona Beach; we have never seen so many people give the thumbs up :thumbs-up: at a car. People asked us where we bought the Shelby from, we replied it is a rent-a-racer from Hertz & their mouths fell open. The 300 Horsepower engine was "GREAT" to drive, it was an incredible experience. I originally rented it for my husband, but being the nice guy that he is, he let me drive the car as much as I wanted. I'm going to surprise him this summer with another Shelby for his 50th birthday; it is rented from 7/3 to 7/11. If you will be in Daytona Beach or New Smyrna Beach & see a Hertz Shelby GT-H it will probably be us, please honk or wave. Last year we didn’t see another Hertz Shelby on the road, we felt unique and special driving it. We hope now that since we have a direct connection and contact within Hertz, that when more cars are put up for auction that my husband and I will be able to buy one of them. If you love speed, getting a lot of attention in an awesome ride and have the need for speed then, this is the ultimate car for you. lilkit2
I'm picking up a GT-H convertable today from Hertz. My other vehicle is scheduled to be in the shop for about 3 wks getting alot of tube work roll cage tubes bent and welded in. Thought I 'd get something fun to drive in the meantime. Looking forward to driving around in the gth. Ben
We bought one we'd found on eBay and LOVE it! So much fun to drive and we've won prizes in a couple of Mustang/Shelby shows.
You are so lucky! I'm so jealous, but happy for you! I would love to own one, but like a lot of other people I'm now unemployed and looking for a job. One day I hope to be able to buy one. lilkit2
I am preparing to buy a 2007 Shelby GT-H convertible and would really appreciate knowing what questions to ask before I commit to the purchase. It only has 300 miles on it and never hit the rental fleet, so I know it's purchase history. But I could use help knowing what options there were available and what it comes with that I need to make sure I get when I pick it up. Thanks!
You get a Mustang GT premium convert;upgraded to GT-H in Vegas by Shelby Other than a hand full of 5 speeds they are all automatics equiped the same. does a hertz exec own it or is a dealer/broker handling ? at 300 miles it should be a no stories deal. Good Luck;I own #109 and we love it Scott
Thanks, Scott. Glad to hear you love it. Is it a daily driver for you and have you had any problems wit it? Yes, it is a Hertz exec. that is selling it. She says she bought it with 31 miles on it and she had to pick it up from a Hertz dealer. Does that sound right? Is it true that there is no factory warranty? I have also read they don't come with owner's manuals. Can you help me know what documentation I should expect to get? Really appreciate the information! Bill
Mine has a owners manuel and is still under its 3 year 36 month factory coverage.Bought mine from Hertz and got alot of paperwork from Hertz. Also contacted my local Ford dealer and bought Ford extended coverage. No problems other than cosmetic issues from being a rental; It lives in our garage with 3 other Shelbys. Look on Team Shelby under GT-H forums for more info Good Luck what# is it? Scott
Thanks for the info, Scott. I met with the seller this morning. I don't remember the exact production number, but it's in the high 200s. Besides a standard Mustang manual, the paperwork was limited to the window sticker and the Shelby invoice. It was also bought from Hertz, but no real paperwork outside of their name on the title. May I ask what type of paperwork did you get from Hertz? Thanks!
Thanks, Scott. Say, if you put the top down and drive fast enough, none of that sleet will even get in the car...
Hi, I know you booked your Shelby a long time ago but was it simple. I am trying to book on for next month but I cannot find one in San Francisco, where there are meant to be some. If anyone knows how to hire one or where in San Francisco they have them I would be really grateful. Thanks, Keith
Hertz only kept the cars in their fleet for about a year. I doubt there are any available for rent these days.
