65 Shelby Stuff

  1. Hey :

Does anyone know the story behind these valve covers or share with us what they know? They are so ugly I can't even imagine how to "bling" them to life(ha ha ). They were on the car when I got it
    along with the originals.

I looked closely at them and they look like they were made to be interchangeable on either side of the motor. Was this a common item for hot rodders back then?

  3. Silly question but Im confused about the R model valve covers.

On some pictures I saw of R models, there seems to be a different variance on tube setting. The traditional ones were long tube on both sides as Lee Mathias stated to me but then Im wondering if
there are more than one setup. I have seen some pictures where the tube maybe long on passenger side and then no long tube on the driver side that I could see from pictures.
    Anyone want to explain?

Also, how do you tell originals from fake valve covers or can you?

Sorry to bug ya'll on this 65 stuff. I just find this very fascinating.
