    Hi everyone :)

If anyone can recommend a reputable carb restoration service, I'd be grateful. There seem to be plenty of specialists out there but I worry about sending off a carb and never seeing it again. Or being told "no problem...2 weeks" and 4 months later having to scream and nag to get my carb back.

    Cheers and thanks
    DD

I had a good experience sending my 67 GT 350's Holley carb to Pony Carbutertors. OK, I'm not the only one. But, now you are going to have some posts about how they would be the last place to send it too.
Hold on for a few more replies.

Rod , one week ago I got a carb back for 67 #0001 that I had sent to Pony Carbs. I have known Jon from Pony for many years and used to send carbs to him all the time but stopped about 10 years ago because I didn't like the plating. Other then that I had no problems. My friend and Master Carb builder Mike Ulrey who I have been sending carbs to past away and I didn't know who to trust. After hearing recommendations from other friends and talking to Jon about his plating techniques I tried him again the carb I got back looks great. The plating is much better then is has been in the past. You know how picky I can be. I would recommend them to others too. Bob

I've always had good service from them as well They've restored 5 carbs for me over the years. However there is a vocal minority? that couldn't/didn't get satisfaction.

Lets just say that I'm a happy customer. However, when the subject comes up on another forum, there are complaints that the carb restoration didn't clear up Acne, lower thier oil consumption, or provide the winning Lotto numbers.........

    Heh heh.

Unless there's a consistant trend showing similar complaints I take internet-aired consumer disputes with a grain of salt. Too much emotion, in most ases. And...there are always two sides to a story and it's seldom that both are heard.

However, I've never known anyone to misrepresent or emotionally exaggerate good service.

My primary concern is trustworthiness. I want to avoid my carb disappearing into a black hole.

    Thanks for the help

    DD
