Hi as some of you know I recently won a 2009 Shelby GT500 KR. (I believe it is #681) I am in Canada.

I am not necessarily looking to sell, I just want to ask the experts here a valid question...

In your "professional" opinion....what could someone sell this for if it has 3700 Miles on it? These miles were put in while the promoter was selling tickets around the province.

Since most of the people on this forum are US let I will assume we are talking US dollars.

    Thanks alot.

Since I already have 2 cars I would sell it should I win one. :evo:

As far as a price goes that is a bit tough. The car here in Canada had a sticker price of $97+- K, but most dealers had a lot of trouble selling them. One the price was way to high, and two the 2010 GT500 came out shortly afterwards. For a lot less money one could buy the 10, with the same power, and an updated interior. I will leave the exterior looks alone, as we all have different opinions :D

When the 10's came out dealers tried to sell the KR for the same price but I still saw most of them sitting around.

My take on it would be to start by asking $50k Canadian. Since you won the car, and I assume you had no out off pocket expense to take ownership, you really have nothing much to lose. You may need to wait until next spring as this time of year no one is really buying

In all seriousness, my opinion is if you are going to sell it, just put a real auction together on eBay. Dont go hunting for the crazy money cuz these cars arent going to pull it. People became tired of the over hype of the dealers very quickly. Start the auction at a reasonable dollar amount (35K US) and let it go from there.

    Best,
    Vern

If you need the money I guess that's that. If not it's a very cool car, great looks, and fun to drive. GT500's are seriously a dime a dozen at car shows or mustang meets. The KR is rare and ALWAYS draws a crowd. I'd keep the KR but I'm not in need of quick cash either.

    Good luck!

I would keep it but if you are looking to sell, I say follow Vern's advice and put it up for auction on eBay.

I think it would sell right in the $50,000 range but could get higher with the right buyer.

    Hi!

Am just wondering if you went ahead on selling your car? If so, how much?

    Thanks

Havent sold it yet - its in Canada and been offered 50k by 4 different people (dealerships and a couple auction guys) so I think I can get much more than that privately or on e-bay. Would like to keep it but I like bikes and trucks better....although it is a beauty!

If I were you, I would keep it solely because it may be one of the last PRE-TITLE Shelby Mustangs to ever be built. The new GT350's are all POST-TITLE as are the Super Snakes, 40th Anniversaries, etc. They didn't make very many KR's in '08/'09 and you have a rare GT500 in your possession! Otherwise, I'll be happy to trade you for my 1997 Harley Softail Custom, 2001 Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic and 2001 Ford Expedition if you insist!

Pre-title means the car was upfitted (modified) by Shelby American while on the original MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin) and prior to the initial sale to a buyer. The last cars sold by Ford dealers under this format were the 2008/2009 KR's. The new GT350's are Post-title...the customer buys the base car from a Ford dealer and has it dropped shipped to Shelby American for conversion.
