I have a couple Holley 3259 carbs. One is a List 3259 with a date of 571. The other is a List 3259-1 with a early 67 date.

Can anyone give me an idea of value?

Here are some pictures of the 571 dated 3259. I have the choke parts and accel pump lever.

    Thanks,

    Jason

Difficult to say as some parts are missing , including transfer tube,
Most likely it would need a complete restoration as well. My best estimate for the 571 dated would be
$500-600. This carb would be for an early 66 Shelby.
Actually, I personally have one just like yours with date code 571 which I am
currently running on my 67 Shelby over in Sweden.

Thanks for the quick reply. As I said, I have the choke parts and accelerator pump actuator. I do not have th transfer tube. I would say the carb does not need restoration. I pulled the front bowl to check the stamped number on the front metering block. It looks like new inside. I will post pictures.

Sorry, I saw I made a mistake and edited my post.
Maybe, you can get more for the carb than what I said.

No, I appreciate the input. Here are some internal pictures. I got the gaskets and power valve out of the way to show the true condition. The car does not look to have ever had gas in it. Possibly restored and not used or a very early take off.

Production on these carbs started in early December, 1964 (4B2 and 4B5). I managed to obtain a copy of a page of the original engineering data sheet from Holley dated November 17, 1964. They were released to manufacturing December 2.

Original, S1MS three digit date code carbs like yours are quite rare. It seems there were some date codes produced in greater numbers than others. A frustrating search for an early carb for my car took three years before finding one, and as luck would have it, I ended up with two. At the time they were in the $1000.00 to $1800.00 range for a good December 64 dated core. Your carb looks to be in really good condition inside and out. The lack of a transfer tube shouldn't affect the value. It would really depend on how badly a perspective buyer needs one. Seems to me that this one is worth more than $500.00.

Bill is correct but if it had been for a 65 Shelby and not a 66 it would in my opinion be worth more. For example the original carb for 6S923 is dated 581. The carbs for the first Shelbys, #004-and up to?
dated 4B as he said are extremely rare and pricy.

Thanks for the input guys. I am ready to sell them. It sounds like Ebay may be the way to go since it will be hard to lock down a value. At no reserve, the market will decide the value.

    Thanks again,

    Hey Guys,

I had many ask about the 67 dated carb I have. I pulled it out today and snapped a few shots that I will post in a few minutes. Also, I decided to price these carbs here before going the ebay route. The 65 dated carb is $1100 with the missing choke and accelerator pump pieces. The 67 Carb is $700 with the missing choke cable bracket.

The 67 carb is a very nice piece. It has some calcium type deposits on the outer areas that scrape off with a fingernail. This should be a beautiful carb with a simple plastic media blasting. Plastic media cleans the debris off the carb without harming the plating or markings, amazing stuff.

    Thanks,

    Jason

I know the photos of the 67 carb make it look a bit crusty. I thought I should take some pictures of the internals to show how nice they are.

We all know that the List 3259-1 has a part number of S2MS 9510-A. Does anyone know what part number is for the List 3259 carburetor? Thanks.

The earlier carb, the 3259 was assigned part number S1MS-9510-A but the carburetors were never stamped with this number from Holley. These carburetors had the list number and a three digit date code stamped on the air horn, nothing else.

Interesting, I always thought that too. However, I've never been able to find any factory literature that states that that is the part number. I've seen some reference to "C5ZA 9510-A" as the part number in the "1966 Street Mustang GT 350 Unique Parts List, dated January 14, 1966. Do you have a source for your information? Thanks.

C5ZA-9510-A is also listed for this carb in the 65 Shelby Parts Catalog dated 5-31-65.
