Does anyone have a good method to change the bypass hose nipple on the front of a C7ZX 428 intake? The motor is apart and before reassembling it I would like to change it as it's pretty rusty and thin. Has anyone used the repop that Mansfield is selling? Thank You for the Help...
You can clamp a Vise-Grip to it, and twist it out. If it does not cooperate, a small slide hammer on the pliers will convince it. I don't recall if I have used Mansfield's replacement, but his other stuff has proved excellent.
Hi, Just an addition to the above..sometimes I put a socket inside the pipe to prevent crush, then use vice grips to twist and remove.Clean the bore with a stainless steel battery terminal type brush, then coat the replacement with some loctite and install. All of the parts from Mansfield have been excellent and he really knows FE engines. Hope this helps! P.D.
