INteresting!! So can we say that this Aluminum T 10 was also used in 66 Shelbys or early 66 cars? Thanks to Kenny Chrisman and Bob who have early 66 Shelby cars, they too carry the same transmission that a 65 Shelby would have. Thanks for your input guys!!! Learned something new today!!! OH...by the way.. I have heard from numerous sources that the Tranny will pop out of 2nd gear but I have not experienced that yet. Howard Pardee , however, did state that the reason the gears pop out or wear out fast is because the gears itself stop the stifter lever rather than like a Hurst shifter with a positive stop bolt. I guess this means no more banging the gears for races - ha jon Jon, I don't have any data on the numbers but I have 6S 030 and have had it since 4/11/69 and it has the same aluminum MT10 trans. I think all the 65s had them, not sure if they changed later in 66. Back in 1969 it would come out of second gear when deaccelerating at a specific rpm and vibrate at about 70 mph. Had it tore down and checked by a supposed "expert" and he couldn't find out why. Went to a Toploader (I still have everything I have taken off) from 1992-2003 then last year converted to a T-5. THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE besides store the original 289 and built a 68 302 into a 347 stroker to play with.
