lookin to buy a GT350

I don't know anything about this car but it sure looks nice in the pictures I have seen. I would see if you can get a Shelby expert to look at it in person. What part of the country is the car currently located in?

IT does look like a nice unit but it does lack a few things like the correct distributor, T oil pan and it says in the description that it has no rear brake ducts...hmmmm. Seat belts are the wrong type and they may be more if you dig deep enough.

It seems to have a fair degree of metal replaced.

Best thing to do is to have the car inspected by an expert in the field.

Here is part of the description.
"She has been in an accident or two; maybe from racing or not, she shows that body parts and front core support and inner fenders have been replaced, you can tell this was done (30?) years ago since the metal was used from another mustang and the body work looks a "much older" time frame. So the inner fender and core body work was untouched as we wanted to leave its history intact, not hiding the work or replacing it with aftermarket metal. Some people would just consider this as part of repair or restoration, or a partial re-body since the parts were core to the car. Also, the rear passenger quarter panel was also replaced, not knowing from what; but I would say it was at a different time then the front work; becouse new re-production metal was used.

SCCA shows that this car had had many owners up to the mid 80s and I had found out in research that at one point she was a theft recovery car that was away from the public for 20+ years. "

The most glaring thing that I see wrong with the car is the export brace has the paired bolt holes not equally spaced.

 

there's a lot off things showing " red light" on this one... better get it inspected before involving any kind off money !!!

 

I agree. Find someone that's knowledgeable and doesn't have have another agenda (like selling you a car) to help you.

If the inner aprons have been replaced, there is very good chance the Ford serial numbers are gone. If the numbers are gone, the value of the car is significantly decreased.

IF all the question marks had been answered then one might be able to determine if the price was "right". As it is, I don't see any reasons given or disclosure about the wrong export brace, as well as exactly what sheet metal has been replaced.

I couldn't agree more. A quick check of any pics of all other genuine Shelby GT350's will show that they are in the wrong place. I pretty sure I mentioned that the more you dealve into this one the more the mystery deepens.
