I was wondering what size tires fit best on the GT500. I have order a set of the 10-spokes for the car and need to get new tires also. I have been told a 225/60/15 will work but wasn't sure if it would rub. I think the BFG Radial T/A tires are what I am going with unless anyone else has a better recommendation?
NCGT500 I have 235/60/HR/15 on a 68 GT500KR and they don't rub. any bigger and they will. Watch out for the chrome wheel well trim that can get in the way sometimes. BFGs are a choice. Ranger Jerry

I got lucky and went with the right tire size. The car had some Sears Roebuck tires on it. I went with the BFG Radial T/A 225/60/15 on the 10 spoke wheels. Car looks 1000% better and drives 2000% better. Thanks for every ones help!
I ran G60X15 on all four wheels of my 1969 GT500, B.F.Goodrich "Formula One" tires, the wide tread looked great, but I did break the bottom of the rear wheel well when cranking them around for gymkhana and slalom races SCCA events. I painted the stock wheels in "wrinkle finish" black and epoxed AC Cobra emblems in the centers, (because the original centers kept wandering off ??) The main problem was the horse power, with a 3:55 posi rear end and the C6 selectshift with shift kit, the car would over come the brakes on damp or slick surfaces. It was a bit trying in heavy traffic 750 Holley double pumper, medium riser manifold, Hooker headers, Isky cam, etc. It was 2" below stock height, with Koni shocks and heavy duy stabilizer bars. (no front spoiler was a disadvantage at high speed, the front end would lift)
Hey guys, making this decision on my 68 KR, so 225/60/15's? Is that the only size that works without rubbing? Mike
