Numbers on 1966 Engine

    I know that you are correct, those are the ones that came on it and not sure where to get the correct ones.

    The stampings are fairly shallow, there was very little paint on it (if any) in that area and I still had to take a wire brush to it to find the numbers. I was very happy to see the 6R09K, right where it was supposed to be.

    Someone comment in PM that they thought they could see a '3' on one of the pictures when blown up, when I checked the photo I have to agree that it appears to be a 3 there.

    Only one to find out, I plan on scrapping the paint off this weekend.

    Today I removed the paint and found no numbers, very disappointing but at least now I know that is it not an original Shelby motor like I was told.

    Thanks for going to the trouble. Sorry it didn't work out well for you. But from the previous pics you posted it still looks like you have a HiPo, just not one from a VIN'd car - possibly a service block. In any case you're a champ for sharing this experience with all of us.

    It might have been a replacement motor for that G.T.350. Thanks for checking it out. Good work.
