2011 GT500 arrived today. Sterling Gray Metallic with Red Stripes. If anyone has recommendations for a no-drill front license plate bracket, please let me know. I saw one or two possibilities online. MM
pretty color combo. good luck. i believe one website sells a license plate that mounts underneath and then you can flip it up and down...i think its called "show and go"
I just got mine (2011 Shelby GT500/SVT Kona Blue) a week ago. Tags have not arrived yet, but can you provide a link or pic to the bracket you found. It seems as though I am going to be in the same predicament.
This 2011 shelby suppose to have better tires this year than the 2010 if it have the SVT package. What is your filling because I use to have a GTO and I fill that the GTO launch much stronger or aggressive that my new shelby. The GTO was stock. I fill that it spin too much tire with low effort. please give me your feed back. (2011 Red GT500 SVT package)
The SVT package has the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires; Rear P285/35ZR20 (92Y) LL (20x9.5" wheels); Front P265/40ZR19 (92Y) LL (19x9.5" wheels). The G:2, by the way, stands for Generation 2. The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires are “intended for race-track use” and not very practical for wet/snow/icy conditions. I suppose if you live in California these tires would be great all year. Not sure where you live, but I live on the Atlantic Coast (USA), and it takes a long time to warm them up in the winter. WHEN... or IF... they get warmed up in the winter months, I find I can spin them real easy, because they never really get to "track temperatures". Also, I'm looking to change the tires. Check the link below for more information. http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/.../12819-2011-shelby-gt500-svt-front-tires.html The other problem you're going to have is finding an "All Season Tire" for the front 19x9.5" wheels. The selection for the P265/40ZR19 leads you right back to the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires. I've been told you can reduce the width of the tire to P255/40ZR19 (for greater tire selection). Continental has a really well rated all-season tire in this size, but I haven't done that yet. Hope you find a solution. If you do, please let me know. Not sure what I'm going to do.
Here is a link to the bracket I just bought for mine. The stainless steel bracket use two the bolts underneath of the front splitter. Works great. http://trailerrebuilders.com/services
i really like these tires i got them to warm up once a couple of weeks after i got the car. an she hook up real good just wait till it warms up.

Hello, My first post on this forum folks..so please be kind...sorry to detract from the thread, but I found this through a Google search. My name is Vito and I too have a 2011 Sterling Grey w/ SVTPP and Red Stripes...Any chance you can PM me your VIN? I ask because I am in the process of compiling a spreadsheet that breaks down by option the Sterling Gray w/ Red Stripes GT500s. Our cars are 1 of 72 Sterling Gray coupes ordered with the SVTPP stripes from the factory. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Vito
That seem to be a great color combination, as I am looking for buying my Shelby and I am still undecided about the colors! What make you chose this color combination? Thanks braztang
This is really the best color combination I have seen...UNFORTUNATELLY FORD is no longer making the sterling gray for 2012!!! Now I will wait and see what happens for the 2013!!! Another wait starts! but hopefully it will be worth it, since I hear that they will come out with some mods and a 600+HP engine. Anyone heard anything yet? Regards braztang
