Re: 2010 GT-500 "Real" Shelby? What town do you live in? There is a black one that is a scam on craigslist.
Re: 2010 GT-500 "Real" Shelby? Hi Wylie, I live in Vancouver, WA and work in the Portland (OR) metro area. I just called Rod (the seller) and received a bit more info on the car. First off, he and the car are in Lakeport, California. So, I'm a little concerned that it's not a local car & owner. He did say that he's got several other cars that are high dollar amount and take's them in on trade. I guess he's a business owner or something of the like. Anyway, I need to research this out a bit and discuss with my better-half (wifey) before we get serious and go down to visit it. The over all GT500 looks original (blue with while stripes) and the only change is to the Shelby 427 side-oiler (which if this is true - another very rare find, all in one package). So, I'm cautious here guys - doe's this all sound too good to be true?
Re: 2010 GT-500 "Real" Shelby? Ok next time you talk, get a VIN number from him and what state the car is titled in. You can check with the states motor vehicle dept on the VIN and then on to the shelby registry. There are threads on this subject. You migh go over to the GT500 forum with this info and there are guys there that will steer you in a better line, step by step so to speak. DO NOT give anybody any money without seeing a real car. Offers to ship a vehicle are scams.
Re: 2010 GT-500 "Real" Shelby? The 68 gt500 with non matching motor is not really a great deal. Its a # 3 car so basically a driver grade car. All muscle cars have had a reality check as far as price is concerned including Shelbys. The present Market is not a result of the present economic crunch, but rather, the cars have settled to what they are really worth. There are cars out there at under 100K even under 80K that are real nice some even restored. The 427 motor is rare that is true. I don't think it hurts the car but certainly does not help. As for the guy who claims he beat the pant of a recent SC gt500 with his 67 car was just lucky that the late model driver was not much of a driver, other wise lets face it. No chance. I have owned and driven them, both stock and modified. The newer car is quite the performer, and if compared the early car just simply can't keep up. Unless of coarse it has a modified , set up drag car with sticky rubber. Interesting thread!!!!!!!!!!!
