Do you recommend a cover over the car when kept inside garage in Florida? Are the cheap soft ones okay? I notice rusing on the brake rotors? Do you just live with this or what?

I think a cover is always a good idea for a car that might sit for extended periods of time. But if you live in sunny Florida and the car is driven regularly, it could be a hassle to deal with.

I'm going to be up north all summer - it will be in garage - would a soft cover cause issues with moisture? I know it will keep dust and bugs down.

Also - should i put it up on blocks so the tires don't get flat spots or is this not an issue since it has wide low profile tires?

I think i will keep battery hooked up and alarm on. Also run the gas real low in the tank.

Keeping a cover on a car in a garage in Florida, or anywhere, is a good idea.
A good cover will sit you back $200, and its worth it. Rotors always get a
bit of surface rust after setting for a period of time. Cast iron, you know?

Thanks for the reply; i'll get a cover. I wonder if putting a dehumidifier in the garage with a hose to drain water outside would be worth the $30 a month to run it? Would the leather seats get mold without it? So....... is mold on leather seats an issue in Florida?

I would suggest connecting a battery tender. Fill the tank with gas and add Sta-Bil®

a mechanic said not to use stabil in Florida as the gas is very bad to start with and the heat kills it fast down here. You don't want to run bad gas in these cars as they need good 91 in them and you can damage the motor very fast with bad gas. Run it low - when you come home go to garage with some jugs and get some good gas and transfer it in it before you run it

I've been told new radials will not develop flat spots being stored over a relatively short period of time (ie. winter). However, I change the car's position by about one foot every 3 or 4 weeks by putting it in neutral and pushing it either forward or backward.

Get a battery tender and keep it hooked up to that for the duration.
