Do we have FORUM just on the new 2011 SHELBY GT 350 45th ANNIVERSARY . I like to see what some of you orded on your car and what you plain to do with them .
Shelby gt 350 2011 forum I was looking to see if any other SHELBY GT 350 45th ANNIVERY wanted to start a FORUM . I guess I'll start . First let me say if it wasn't for STEVE from SHELBY I wouldn't have it . I orded my car in DEC and my CSM is 165 . My added options are POLISHED SUPERCHARGER , PERFORMANCE COOLING SYSTEM , PAINT OVER THE TOP and PREMIUM INTERIOR . I was thinking of adding PERFORMANCE FUEL RAIL , FORD RACING POWER PACK , TENSIONER SUPPORT PLATE and a CRANKSHAFT DAMPER . So I know we have 100 + GT 350's so let's get started .
I am waiting for #143. Looks like April or May due to delay in getting car sent from Ford which was orded in Oct. and not delivered to SAI until late Dec.. I believe you will have the last 45th Annv production car! I am getting the 624 HP with other extras incl. painted stripes (only 2011 models have that option). Can't wait for the beauty to arrive. B)
Looks like MAY for me . I'm sorry to say but the 2011 and 2012 are the same . You can get the paint stripes to . NOT HAPPY AT ALL . Oh they did add the drive shaft . I was told you couldn't get the PAINTED STRIPES ON THE 2012 .
When I kast talked with Steve, they were getting about one GT350 done per day or 20 per month. The Holidays and delays from Ford and other vendors did not help. Only the 2011 model will have the painted stripe option. The process is another delay. It also makes that option unique for 2011 besides the 45th Annv. badging. 2012 gets convertibles and a trio of colors.
I checked the new 2012 BROCHURE and it has PAINT ON STRIP . I was hopeing I was wrong but the 2012 is the same as the 2011 .
I been looking for a car that had the W . I looked at CHALLENGER , VIPER , CAMARO , CORVETTE and ROUSH MASTANG all great car's . So it all came down to the GT 350 . So when SHELBY came out with the GT350 and it had the W . I like the idear of the PAINT OVER THE TOP . The bottom line it's a GREAT looking car . GOOD LUCK
A lot of GT350 orders requested the extra cost to get the stripes painted because that is what was done with the original cars 45 years ago and all the complaints owners had with the newer Shelby GT and GTH vinyl stripes. It looks like all the complaints were for the gold and silver metallic stripes as I have not heard of problems with the GT500 solid color vinyl. Anyway, I would check with SAI before ordering the painted stripes to see if they will be available as posted or if that was a marketing error.
I checked the 2012 is the same as the 2011 the only thing they added one piece drive shaft . I also checked the press releases had the PAINT OVER THE TOP . MARKETING ERROR I hope so but I don't think so
Actually, the '65/'66 GT350's did not have painted LeMans or side stripes. The side stripes were installed by Shelby American in California and most of the "over the top" LeMans stripes were dealer installed.
One other thing...The 2011 GT350 has the 45th Anniversary badging on the rear faux gas cap and the 2012 GT350 does not. Also, the 2012 GT350 will not have the aluminum grille surround as shown on the two 2011 GT350 prototypes and the 2011 GT350 production cars.
I was looking at the 2012 OPTIONS on the GT 350 and I see other new OPTION . To me it looks like a new engine cap set ??? It's called COLOR ANODIZED BILLET ALUMINUM ENGINE CAP SET . The cost is $675 .00 Did anyone get it yet if you did could you post a picture of them ??
Your delivery date for donor car was in Dec and they started your car? On the TS site there are some who had there car there in July and are still waiting on delivery. Mine is also a December order and I'm wondering when it will start. Last I spoke to them they were saying maybe August.
My car was a donor car . The thing is I got the car from someone who changed his mine so I got his car that got to shelby in july . I see a lot of car's being done . I was at shelby monday and had to be 15 or more being worked on and other 15 done . I think the big thing parts . Just hang it .
