Hello everyone. I'm a modest collector of some of my favorite cars and while I'm very savvy with C2 Vettes, I'm new to the Shelby area of the hobby. I'm interested in eventually acquiring a Convertible 69-70 GT 350 or GT 500 in perfect restored condition. Would love to know if anyone knows of any I should investigate. I live in Colorado, but comfortable traveling to see the right car. I'm closely following what various level cars are going for these days at RM, Russo and other auctions. I'm hoping to find a collector who has a great car and is thinning out his heard to raise funds for his next one. I appreciate everyone's insight. Here's a pic of the ideal car in my world, that was sold a few years back. Sincerely, Jim Janicek Cre8vtv@aol.com
Here's a 1969 GT500 just listed in the Shelby Forums Classifieds. not sure about the specifics. Best of luck with your search. I'll keep an eye out. Randall
Jim , there was a very nice grabber green GT500 convert at R+S auction that didn't sell or so i thought. The last time i talked to the owner he was trying to make a deal. You can check with Jim Cowles at Shelby Parts and Restoration (website) he did the car and knows the owner. There are many restore cars out there much fewer that are correctly restored. The best of luck with your search. Bob
Since your new to these cars and (considering the condition your looking at) are likely spending some good dollars I can not stress hiring someone that knows these cars to get an educated look before you leap. Better to know before than after about issues, repairs, unoriginal items, .......... You will not be sorry that you did - only that you didn't
Thank you Jeff. I absolutely will. I agree 100% and with 100k plus involved, it's just like a house... inspection and proof of value a must. Jim
