Odds are odds. To be blunt, odds are you won't find shelby parts in a box. I dont believe I have claimed it to be anything and you told me that it can't be a 68 block when the casting says it is. I am just putting together what I have been told, what i see on the block and what research I have found. I have no reason to believe the previous owner would intentionally mislead me due to the fact the heads alone are worth more than I paid for everything. I plan on running thig block in my truck, I would just like to know what I have.

+1. From the date code there's no way this block was used on any 67 or 68 from the factory, that date is in 69 territory production wise. BUT from your pictures it "possibly" could be a very rare C8OE HiPo 289 service block and if the rod bolt size measures up, a short block. Info is pretty shady on these so please take as many pictures and measurements as possible. Any markings on the cam?

Could also be just a pieced together motor with HiPo main caps and maybe rods....

If I could get the bowls and floats for less than $300 and a very good family friend said he would resto it for $50 would it be worth it? He rebuilds race carbs for a well know company that I shouldnt name because he would do it for me on the side from his home. He has done vintage carb restorations and said he can dye the carb and rebuild it to look new stock. Just thought I might see a decent return on the investment.

yes. normally you would have to spend $500 or more. So if you could get it done on the cheap your plan seems do-able. Consider not dying the carb. Some potential buyers prefer the aged, but clean, look. Soaking it in a vat of carb dip should be enough, just my opinion based on what I would want.

As an FYI, the Carb is for a late '66 GT350 and the intake is for a '65 or carryover '66 GT350 (first 252 '66s) so they are not really a matched set. Based on this, my guess is you could probably get better money if you separate them as they will appeal to different people. That being said, put them up for sale as a set with a "may separate statement" and see what offers you get. You never know what will happen. Good Luck.

Yes, Studebaker used to have something to do with Paxton superchargers. That carb box is not like I've seen on any Shelby, including the 66 prototype. It is very likely a "Stude" part. You might want to look for an Avanti web site to verify this.
Any, yes, I recall that the LeMans bowls would not fit under the Paxton carb bonnet.
