Hello from Germany

Hi to all of you.

My name is Manfred and I'm from Germany. Since July 2008 I own a 2008 Shelby GT 500. Due to the fact that Shelby cars are not officially exported to Europe, Shelbys are hardly seen on German roads. My car color is alloy and it has got no stripes. Although meanwhile I know about 40 Shelby owners in Germany, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia mine is the only one I know in alloy. Last September European Shelby owners met the very first time in Bavaria and spent a fantastic weekend together. The highlight was a drag race on the runway of the little airport in Genderkingen. Not a drag race against the clock, as most of you know it, but duels just for fun. Members of the audience were invited to join the drivers as passengers to get the possibility to find out about the power of these great muscle cars. At the moment my Shelby is still hibernating in a garage because I won't take it on our salty roads in winter time. On 1st of April I will wake him up and take him out for the first time this season. From April till October the Shelby is my daily drive. Although at present a tankful of gas costs about 125 US$ in Germany I enjoy every single mile with it and I can hardly wait to start the engine again.

Hi folks, it's me again.

Two weeks ago nearly 70 European Shelby owners met the second time at the airport in Genderkingen/Bavaria. The weather conditions were fine on Saturday but extremely horrible on Sunday. But despite of the rain on the second day we pushed our cars down the track. So again we had a fantastic weekend. Like last year we did not race against the clock but against each other. The big surprise for me and probably all the other Shelby owners was the fact that despite of the very wet track we were able to push the cars nearly as fast as under dry conditions. What a fantastic experience for us and the passengers who got the opportunity to join us during some taxi races.
