    Hi,
The cars were painted with acrylic enamel and baked when initially built by Ford. The stripes were done in acrylic lacquer,if done by Shelby. The
most info. available is in the new registry and worth adding to your library

I might caution trying to paint a lacquer based stripe over a enamel paint car if your purpose is for restoration purposes. You will find the lacquer paint is not normally compatible over the enamel and you will have paint surface problems. Modern paints can get the job done nicely and are acceptable in even concours competition if applied correctly. it is best to check with your paint man for modern paint compatibility. Bob

Thank you for the tip Bob. Obviously, I don't want to make a mistake when I get the car painted. I purchased the gold powder from Branda for the stripes, but I'll certainly check for the proper application now. Thanks again.
