It's been just a few months or so since I joined the Shelby forum life. And there is one thing that I have found to be true. Nobody has a clue, truly what is going to happen. I've talked to countless dealers. Literally 20 to 30 from several different states and I came to the conclusion, None of them have a clue what is going to happen with the New Shelby. Some say 10000 productions will be made others scare you with 5000, some jump right in the middle at 7000. Truly they have no freaking Idea. The rumors and guessing, at best is all we have. Only a select few truly know what is going to come of this car. I personally will not believe any dealership, truly at their word. They hope like the rest of us for the Dream, to have a Shelby in their possession. All these pictures of the tail, the front the side, simply keeps you guessing. The true Question is how much would you be willing to pay to be a fly on the wall in the SVT Conference Room? For a car not even in production to demand this type of attention allready, is simply amazing and I give credit where credit is due. Mr. Shelby and SVT I SALUTE YOU! and I loath  the secrecy!

As the salesman at my Ford dealer says "Ford never introduced a car right" He knew less then I did.

I would expect almost anything now, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was late.

I know guys who have put down deposits , guys who have spoken for cars with no deposit ,and a Ford dealer who won't take a deposit or even promise any one a car.My question is will they be numbered like the old Shelbys ?They are a good looking car with loads of power and torque but so many questions and no answers. It just seems very unorganized and it is kind of a shame.

Been cruising around the internet lately, looking for buzz about the new GT500. After finding this forum on Friday, I got busy calling dealers, trying to find out locally what is going on. Nothing different than most stories listed here. Some dealers didn't have a clue, others knew "EXACTLY everything that was going to happen (give us your money)" One dealer had a simple waiting list with over 100 names on it and was willing to put my name as #101! Another dealer had a wait list but you must put down a deposit (that means I must dip into my "just in case I find an old shelby in a barn money" Even then, I could not get a straight answer about the actual wait list...the salesman says I am number two with three cars guaranteed to be delivered while the guy responsible for taking the money/deposit and being asked to put something in writing regarding my place and price (i.e. not to exceed MSRP by ?K) was unable to talk much, but promised to call back real soon.

Amen, brother. To answer your question, I have placed a LARGE down payment with an SVT dealer, and it only allows me to be a fly on a wall 450 miles from the SVT conference room. I certainly hope that it closely resembles the show car, but the forum searches are full of nothing but mostly unfounded rumors. If the car is close to the one test driven in July's Car and Driver, then I am juiced. This much anticipation over a year before it is released gives Ford an enormous opportunity to score big, or blow it. I have hedged a hefty down payment on Ford's and SVT's ability to score big.

I don't agree, there are a number of items that are true and some that are not. Take the old three sources approach if you can substantiate it across three different sources then its closer to being accurate.

    for Instance:

    1) Yellow test Mule - Seen and photographed changes don't seem to appeal to the general population, but it deffinitely exsits and well it looks like

    a) Vinyl stripes are in
    b) No Shelby lettering across rear Deck lid
    c) No Rear tail light on Spoiler
    d) No Twin Screw

    2) Limited numbers of production run for 2007 model Qty 7000 and allocation:

    a) This would again seemingly be true as I have seen it on three different source tree's and spoken with a dealer to validate it exists.
    b) FORD may change the numbers so this one is obviously not set in stone
    c) As a result of low volume(s) dealers are already talking about price and the increase in expected demand compared to supply there by justifying (in their eyes) a price increase.

Just my 2 cents the thread does say conflicting the conflicts of the conflictor, which may in fact conflict with the conflicts you post in rebuttal to my conflict...do I get one or not.

    Cheers,

    Requis
