I have an opportunity to purchase the following: 2008 Shelby Cobra Super Snake w/ 725 hp. Black with charcoal grey stripe, navigation, satelite radio, poished supercharger, yellow calipers, non-shaker mats. The car has 380 miles on it and is in perfect condition. My question is this; what is a great deal for me, a fair deal for both parties, and a great deal for the seller? I made an offer of 52k, thinking it was a fair deal and the seller took it as an insult. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Adam
Much depends on why this person is selling it, how quickly he/she needs to sell, etc. But I think if you offered 10k more and he/she accepted it would still be a very good deal for you. Heck, the car is almost brand new, even though it's a 2008. Then again you may not wish to spend $10k more.
I would wait and buy the 2013 Shelby GT500 with the new 5.8L TVS Supercharged V8 engine that produces 640hp spanking the new ZL1 camaro already, with the SVT and Electronics package for $52,000.. or swap the Electronis for the Recaro racing seats
My understanding is there were 3500 of the stock Black GT 500's built. Not a rare car to me in that sense. Additionally, I believe there were 1000 GT 500's (all colors) Super Snaked in '08. The yellow caliper color sounds strange (bumble bee), what color is the interior? I doubt it's yellow. Does it have the rear brakes (that's a $4500 expense)? Keep in mind that the body style changed in 2010 and a lot of people prefer the '07, '08 & '09 body style over the later years.
