I have a new gt500 and I had it out today and in first gear, accelerating, it sounded like it backfired/or engine shut off. It has five hundred miles on it, and I don't hammer it yet, breaking it in for now.

Did I push it too far too close to the redline, and the automatic fuel shut off kicked in? Runs great in every gear, just seemed to have hesitiation in first over five thousand rpms!

Sounds like you hit the rev limiter.

Thanks I was thinking that. Runs great since I haven't bad it that long can't recall pushing it that far. I was by myself and cracked first and it was an odd sound feel. Backed it.down then went through gears and had no problems. Ill just watch it. Thanks again!
