On Ford Muscle "Timing is Everything" it says counterclockwise to decrease advance & clockwise to advance on vac .aftermarket units. On Mustangs & Fords Nov. 1999 says Turn the adjustment screw [ allen wrench ] counterclockwise for a quicker response, & clockwise for a slow rate of response . Which one should I assume is correct .----Thanks,----S.
It's really a good idea to use a distributor machine, or at least a controlled vacuum, to set the precise curve specified by Ford. This adjustment is a lot more critical than just adjusting for "fast or slow". That's kinda like setting initial timing "by ear".
