Latest ebay scam--"second chance" offer

  1. Don't know how many of you may have seen this yet, but in brief, here's how
it works. You bid on a (big-$$, typically) ebay auction, but don't win. In a
short time, you get what looks like an ebay-trans mitted msg--from the
seller--offering you a "second chance" to buy the item...because the original buyer
wasn't able to perform, the item didn't make reserve, or for some other
    reason.

I sent the second one I got to spoof@ebay.com & got confirmation that it was
a scam, & NOT actually sent via ebay. I also checked it by putting my cursor
on the link/address to respond to, which (at least, with my software) shows
the ACTUAL address you'd be getting linked to...and it AINT what it looks like.

The kicker is that I recently received a "second chance" scammer on an item
that I'd already negotiated the purchase of (after it'd failed to make
    reserve).
