I heard he was at Laguna Seca Saturday. I was there too but missed the Cobras racing. I didn't see him at Pebble Beach but then the throngs were so thick it probably couldn't accomodate a golf cart. I know there was a competing Shelby club event in Detroit which he didn't make. Like to hear where he appeared, see what I missed. By the way, I heard next year's honored marque at Laguna Seca will be Shelby American. I checked it out and found one article confirming that: www.sportscardigest.com/cobra-featured-at-2012-monterey-motorsports-reunion So now the question is--will there be enough Cobras for an all-Cobra race? I went to the billed "all GTO" race at Laguna but they filled out the grid with swb 250GTs , I guess too many 250GTO owners were prepping their cars for Pebble Beach to want to risk damaging them on the racetrack.
Carroll Shelby was there on Saturday in the padock by the row of Cobras. I had a good conversation with him. A friend of mine took pictures of he and I . if you look closely at the background you can see this was at Laguna or look at our Paddock passes. Cheers, ~Earl J
