OK, after I have been researching the proper Ford Ditzler paint codes to do a '64 1/2 Mustang convertible for my daughter, I ran across the fact that a 1969 Shelby GT500 was given to Connie Kreski, Playmate of the Year, and it was pink. I guess this is the only pink Shelby (original) in existance, but does anyone know what happened to it?

Well, Connie unfortunately died of a blocked artery in 1995. The Shelby, I don't know...

Interesting such a rare and famous Shelby would just disappear from the face of the earth. It has to be worth mucho dinero.

I am surprized that it has not showed up anywhere.

Hey car was originally green, repainted to pink for Playboy. There were, however, 12 factory pink shelby's built for one of the playboy clubs.

My mistake, it was originally pastel gray, painted to pink by playboy, and then painted green later in life.

Was that in the Chicago DSO? I have seen a few with the 41 code on the data tag.

The Shelbys would not have had a DSO, like a Mustang. If you are referring to Mustangs, There are several districts that come close to Lake Geneva.

Here's a bit of useless trivia for you, Axel Rose, of Guns and Roses owned property near the Playboy Mansion (now closed) and reportedly wrote the song "Paradise City" about his experiences there.

Lake Geneva was also on the short list of locations for the US Air Force Academy before it located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Well, my KR has 8D2882 in the DSO slot on the data tag on the door, but I am thinking about a Mustang that has 410001 in that slot and no paint code.

Where did you hear that Ms Kreski's pink car was painted green? If so, I'll bet there is somebody that owns the car, and does not know of its past life.

Yes, your KR has some numbers there, but they are not a DSO. They are not an indication of where the car was sent, like a Mustang. In the case of the Shelby it is a consecutive batch number.

jonbenya ,you are mis informed on your Shelby info. I was discussing the pink Shelby as recently as a month ago with the SAAC 69/70 Shelby registrar and there is no factory evidence to support even one "factory built" pink Shelby let alone 12. This goes for the 65-68 model years as well. If any are pink out there they were painted after being sold . Now there are a couple of variations of "Purple" factory built Shelby's in 69 and 70 but that is getting off thread :laf: . Bob
