I have an original S2MS Cobra intake that came on a 65 Mustang fastback I purchased and I'm currently building a 331 stroker for car. Was wondering if anybody would know if the S2MS intake would be too restrictive on air flow for a stroker. It has been suggested to port match intake to the the afr heads, but I hate to alter an original piece. I have asked this on other sites, but seems not a lot of people know the true performance capabilities of early Ford h.p. parts. Thanks chill2569
Obviously port matching is the best choice but it will still run strong without it, I have a S7MS on a 347 with a paxton and it runs real strong, unmodified.
I believe the folks over at Cobra Automotive when they say the reproduction Cobra manifolds has substantially better flow numbers/characteristics than the original. Z.
Thanks for the info. I am planning on doing a dyno session once engine is in car. Toying with the idea of changing intake after session to an Air Gap rpm and re-test just to see the difference in numbers. I already have both intakes anyway and just curious.
