1969 GT500 Cobra Shelby- question about value / how to match vehicle parts

Determining the value is not easy and it is somewhat subjective. You may find these articles useful. They are specifically aimed at 1968 Shelbys, but the 1969s are similarly priced. Current condition, history and documentation are extremely important.

What is the VIN as found on the drivers side upper dash (as viewed through the windshield)?

Is there any rust (inside, outside, underneath, tops of the inner fender panels in the engine compartment)?
How much mileage is showing on the odometer?
What color is it (inside/outside)?
Has it ever been repainted (you may see signs of overspray on the exterior trim or weather stripping)?

As for value, that depends on just how well kept and original the car is. Why not take a bunch of pictures and post them here. We can then attempt to further assist you in regards to a rough valuation of your fathers old Shelby.
