    It's a nuisance to have the platform in your way, but by the same token it
    also provides a convenient place to rest parts and tools.

    As for me, I have a low-profiles chassis lift that was made by Benwill, who
    are now part of the larger Maxxon empire:

    Due to low garage height, I can't fit a full-sized lift in my garage. This
    little beauty will lift a car about 36 inches, which is MORE than adequate for
    virtually anything you'd need to do. Cost new was about $1800, I bought it
    used for $1200. It has a 6000 lb capacity I believe.

    Dunno where you would go to buy another one of these, but I LOVE it!!!!
    Can't understand how I lived without it for all those years.....
