What is the diameter of the hole on the underside of the hood for the air cleaner? Is the air cleaner supposed to fit inside this hole?

    Thanks!

Car is at the shop so I cannot measure, yet I can tell you the outer diameter of the air cleaner should rest firmly on the underhood seal, air cleaner and the air cleaner top would be within the outer hood seal.

Thank you very much for the info.

So the lip of the air cleaner base rests against the circular seal which is attached to the hood?

Yes., the exterior lip of the air cleaner rests on the seal.

There is a thinner GT500 seal and a thicker GT350 seal . The GT500 sits up higher and does not require as thick of a seal as the GT350. I think Branda sells both varieties.
