So the hood lock catches on this car would leave the tops sitting at different postions one would be straight and one would be at an angle. Is this how the car could have left the factory?

Is it at an angle side to side? The latch brackets can be adjusted

OK So I am working on a KR and the owner of that one replaced both brackets and they both are the same as the first picture. Resulting in both locks being positioned like the right one in picture 3.

The second picture is the two that came off the GT500 we are restoring and if that is truly what came on the car the hood locks would look like I have them in picture 3.

Let me know what you guys think!

Both mounting brackets should be the same. There is no left or right.

Well even so were there two variations that they had cause I know the reproductions are like the one in the first photo?

Also speaking of two different versions of a part this car has for the headlight trim rings one is a chromed ford one and the other one has no markings on it. Was this a common occurance or another issue I will be facing?

All original brackets I've seen are same L & R
Never seen headlight ring w/o part #. Could be repop

Both brackets should look like your first picture. When installed the triangle wall is on the drivers side for both brackets. The trim ring without a part number is a reproduction.

The other variation of the bracket was sold by Branda for many years, so you will find a lot of them. They changed them about five years ago after it was called to their attention by some really smart guy.

The chrome trim rings without part numbers have only recently come available within the last three years.
