as I have been buying signed items by Mr. Shelby and I have been disappointed quite a few times. Either the quality is not as described or the seller does not send everything or the signature is smeared, etc. Just curious what you guys have experienced.

I have mailed stuff directly to Mr. Shelby over the years to autograph and have always been satisfied. Sometimes there is a slight delay in receiving the item back but nothing has ever been lost & you can bet the autograph is the real deal. Don't trust eBay!! My apologies to the honest sellers there but why take a chance. David

You also now get a Certificate of Authenticicty to go with your signature. and the money goes to a good cause.

Leeches. They send in something for a signature, then add to the cost for you to buy it. As stated, just send in what you want.

Click this link for more information on how to send items for an autograph.

I've bought a variety of die cast cars on eBay and have had mixed results. None with signatures. The bad ones are usually when the item is not as pictured, has damage or is missing parts or packaging. I've had more good than bad purchases though so, I'll keep buying on eBay.

As a dealer of collectibles I hate to see people get burned or recieve less than what they expected from auction sites. Signature items are hard to authenticate unless you have a certificate or personal knowledge of the item for sell. Your best bet is to purchase and send the item off for Carroll's signature or only deal with reputable dealers who would be willing to do this service for you. Another idea is to catch a Convention or SAAC event where there are a few literature/diecast dealers who have this kind of stuff for sale. The quality has to be good and certainly they do not want a bad reputation for selling junk. The best thing is that you can see it and examine it before you buy.

I don't wan't to hijack this thread but I was wondering if anyone here has a glovebox door signed by CS they are willing to sell. I have often thought about sending one in to have signed but I would first have to buy a spare gb door from the States get it shipped to Oz then ship it back to the foundation to have signed and shipped back again!....not ideal.
