Still wondering if this is the hood SVT is going to use for the production car?

If I'm lucky enough to get one, the 1st thing to go will be those cheap looking plastic vents on the hood! :thumbdown
I liked it better when it was opened up like the FORD GT.
If they (SVT) were really worried about too much air getting under the hood at high speeds, then why put them their to restrict air flow? Or if they were worried about the motor generating too much heat under the hood & couldn't get enough cooling?

Doesn't make much sense now does it? :noway:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, this will be the final hood, it's been on the last 5 mules.

Are you guys sure SVT reads these threads?????? Ya would think that after reading the opinions expressed here would give SVT a majority idea of the market value of the final production car. That would boost sales and owner confidence in FORD, as to really listening to its customers. Wonder if we'll have the option to select a hood design IF we have the that ability to choose anything at all???

Just went to Tasca Ford show in RI this past weekend. The car is awesome. The hood is what it is. I'm fortunate enough to be #1 on my dealers list for this bad boy!

Sorry, never though of brining a camera. You can tell I'm new at the show circuit. I met a fellow from the Boss forum who may have pics. I'll email him and if so will post.

Did the back look any different than the early mules? or does it still have that ugly ass 3rd brake light right in the middle of where the SHELBY lettering was, and all the Shelby badges removed from the rear of the car? ... I can live with the hood, but they REALLY screwed the pooch on the back of the car, if that is the final design.

They are not going to change the decklid as it would cost more $$ to produce them. I'd be happy with Cobra badges on each fender and the Shelby GT500 "gas cap" on the rear oh and the steering wheel too.

I was thinking the same thing. I could learn to live with the hood but no Shelby lettering on the back :noway: I would like to know what Mr, Shelby thinks of them leaving his name off the back of the car. The car is going to cost a fair bit any how. Lets not cheap out on the rear deck just to save a few$$

bos04, It was comforting to read your positive comments about seeing the car in person. To me, what's built in is way more important than the exterior details. Is it standard fare to see 5,000 lb. hitches on mules? It sure looks out of place, unless they use them to haul equipment trailers to test sites.
