He didnt say which way they were off but he acted like it would be a lot higher. I couldnt get him to say much about the HP figures! He just smiled (a lot)! I did take it from him that they will be making more SVT vehicles in various displacements such as 5.0L ,4.6L, and the 5.4L. Maybe like the Boss, Mach 1, and he even mentioned a California Special!
I wonder if Ford has any idea how this will be turning off people to any of Ford's products. I would not buy didly squart from any dealer doing this. There is a dealer in my area with a G.T. 40 in his showroom roped off, asked him how much he's asking, 250,000.00. I offered him 135,000.00 , he looked at me with that offended look, I told him he should be happy that I would give him list price, after all it's only a Ford. --- Man, did that give me a high.--S.
I have talked to Carrol and a Ford Rep from SVT and the production figures they were throwing around is 12,000 units or more, they are having a large demand for the car..and plan to fill as many orders as possible...
Yeah, they made a little over 13,000 '03 Cobras. And if you guys remember, there were PLENTY of those sitting on dealers lots for long periods of time, with dealers eventually making great deals with people on them just to move 'em. Granted, they didn't have the Shelby nameplate, but I truly don't think it will be necessary to pay over sticker for one of these cars unless you absolutely, positively, have to be the first guy on your block to own one. Those hoods are very simula to the proto type of the 2007 shelby a year or so ago. I have a front cover picture of that car from Hot Rod magizene. The car had all the things of a 68 Shelby. the eyebrow headlights, the 2 oval front grills, the 68 style Shelby hood with 2 scoops up front, the 2 side scoops upper & lower, also the seqential tailights. Then of course Ford change alot of things,which do not look like the picture any more.---S.
