    Thanks for your tip but it will be hard getting this boot here in germany.
    but i`ll look. What size is the hole?
    I got my traction bars today and the quality is not good.
    Welding is weak and the edges are sharp like hell.
    I´ll make a duplicate of it in stainless steel.

    This forum is the best thing that could have happenend to me.

    I am also using the truck boots. The car had the slit inner tube originally. I guess it's because "it never rains in southern California." (Isn't that what the song said? :)

    While I know the folklore of using an (truck tire) inner tube, I thought that was only the earliest fabrications and a technique of repairing the seal in subsequent years. What was the time span of the use of the elongated pyramidal shape boot? I have an extra pair in fair condition I was thinking to use as a guide in casting new ones. One of the boots on 6S296 has had the attaching face too buggered up to be much use.
