Hi...I'm a former Shelby owner, who just found this forum. I am the former owner of a 67 GT350, ##67210F7A02090, and a 69 GT350 (can't remember the serial number, but it was listed in the SAAC World Registry, along with the 67). I'm also a former Nebraska State Rep for SAAC. I sold my 67 GT350 back in 1991, and left SAAC shortly after, but still have a "soft spot" for Shelbys in my heart. I've been trying to track my old 67 down, and have sent a letter to the last known owner, but have yet to hear back from him. Anyway, when I'm allowed, I'll post a picture of both cars...until then, I'll mostly lurk in the background, and enjoy being here!

Welcome to the site from a fellow "former" Shelby owner.

I don't like the sound of that. I will have to correct that problem soon.

Will you post the pics here as well? Sure would like to see them! If you have any trouble posting, I can guide you along or post them for you.

I'll give it a shot. This is the only pic I have of the car on my computer. This is how it looked the day I bought it in July of 1980. I will dig out the others, and scan them in and post them. I've also attached a photo of my 69 GT 350, which was my first Shelby. I also have other pics of that car that I can scan in, if anyone is interested.

I'm sitting here, with shivers running up and down my spine. After 14 years, I now know what happened to my old car! The gentleman that owns it sent me an email this afternoon, with pictures. I will copy the text here, and attach the pictures, for those of you that are interested....

    Hello Mike!
It's great to hear from previous owners of the car. I bought the car from Boyd Butler, who lives in Sandy, Utah. He owned the car from the time he bought it from Richard Giesler in Lincoln. The car sat virtually untouched in his garage until I bought it from him in 2001. I immediately started working on the car it hadn't been started since Boyd drove it to Utah from Neb. The valves were stuck, we got it started but it just wouldn't run good. It went into my garage. Then the work of stripping the spidercracked black paint off. Then it spent the next 3 years at Mustang Ranch in Murray, Utah getting restored...Brent Reed who is a friend of mine let me do a great deal of the work to keep costs down. I remodeled his house for partial payment...pitched roof from a flat roof, deck, rock waterfall....anything to get the project moving.
Rewind to before I bought the Shelby. I was working on a 65 mustang fastback, making a gt 350 R model clone for vintage road racing. When the Shelby appeared I just had to buy it, and the fastback went to a friend. I had always intended for the Shelby to be driven/raced but the thing is worth a stupid amount of money now and I'm hesitant to race/drive it now. It goes to shows mostly...I'm not a car show guy...although I love to see what other people have done to thier cars.

So the car got finished and is a beautiful car...drive it down the street and people fall all over themselves to see it and follow me to where I'm going to talk about it. I have a friend who has a 67 GT500 nightmist blue with white stripes. He always tells me that if I sell it he wants it. You sold the car to buy a boat...I am thinking I may sell it to finance some building lots. But am hedging because I will never be able to afford one again also...but as you say at least I got to own one.
