    Jon,
The 69-70 Bumpers were made specifically for Shelbys. I have heard of a few
    of
    "borrowed parts".

65-66 Shelby, Racing Lap Belts off 63-64
    Galaxie
67 Shelby Headlamp buckets off 60 Galaxie
69-70 Shelby Convertible Roll Bar Clips off Samsonite
    Luggage
68 Shelby Tail Lamp Housings off 65 T-Birds
67 Shelby Shoulder Strap Retractors off Fighter
    Jets ?? rumor

Please add to this running list. It should be very interesting !

Im curious. Does anyone know what car the 69-70 Shelby (front) chrome
bumbers come off of? They look somewhat like the AMC bumbers.

  2. Thanks Pete -

I will add to this list.

The 69-70 grill mesh itself is made from a BBQ pit mesh. All you have to do is take a BBQ Mesh (must be the old kind where the mesh has the same shape and style as the Shelby grill) and bend/cut
them to the original specs or just copy an original.

There is nothing special about the mesh besides being able to cook ribs, chicken and hotdogs on them...Im hungry now.

    jon

  4. Hmmmmm. With a 1969 GT-500 and that good old 428CJ in summer heat, one could
tape a steak to the inside front of the grille and have dinner when you
arrive at the car show. Neat.
    Very interesting thread.
