  1. There is even a 68 Shelby.

I remember when I had my 94 Mustang GT. I put every sticker I got on the car from ARP to Edelbrock...It served as a "warning" to those who came too close to it - the stang will buck. ha

I think that is the car I was parked next to at the first Great Gorge
convention (was that SAAC 7?). It was still owned by the same owner, but
it had been repainted, but still had the drag race wheels, tires,
    suspension, engine.

Ah, Green Valley, TX...I lived in Dallas '66-'68. Went to Green Valley Road
Course and saw the greats there: Bob Tullius, Freddie VanBeuren, John
McComb, Horst Kweck, etc. Took some photos for the Dallas Times-Herald
    w/Pulitzer Prize Winner Bob Jackson.
    Regards, Stan

  4. I have similiar stories about Marlboro, MD. I was a kid at the time, but
we used to drive right past the track, and you could see the cars racing
from Rt 301. The track was still there last time I drove by (a couple
years ago), but you had to know where it was. It is under lots of
vegitation, you can pick it out from the back of the grandstands. The
property was a mulch storage area and an office space for an aerial
    photographer.

  6. Yeah, a couple of years ago, I managed to talk the current occupiers into
letting me spend a couple of hours out there walking around the track. It
was kinda cool. Some of the old corrigated wall that was along the
southeast border is still there, with racing advertising stickers on some
of it. I can pick out parts I see in the old movies still. The track is
still mostly there but in pretty bad shape. Somehow it should be cleared
and used once a year for something like the Goodwood Speed Festival. It is
errie being there walking around the history. Even if it were only a Solo
I/II type event it would be awesome. Anyone want to invest in history.
