That is the good news. She is white with blue stripping. Our local Ford dealer let me try the car out for a couple of days in hope of selling me another one that he has a line on. I am so impressed with design, beauty and performance that I don't know if I can take it back. That is the bad news (taking it back). Does anyone have a GT out there? Are there any inherent problems with these cars that I should know about? Big decision to make.
What G.T. are you talking about? Mustang G.T.? or... Ford G.T.? or an older Shelby G.T.? Let's clear things up a bit.
Re: What G.T. are you talking about? Mustang G.T.? or... Since this is posted in the GT40 forum, I am betting we are talking about a new Ford GT. robin
The only bad things I have heard about this car is gas mileage, which won't matter unless its a daily driver, and the doors have to open very wide to get out, meaning, you cant park too close to anything. All the reviews say it is a fantastic car though. Good luck!
Re: I've got a GT in my garage tonight! the $$$$$$ GT It's the new reincarnated GT-40 of the 60's. This car is #1375, white with blue LeMans stripes. I heard from the dealer that they did have some suspension failures. I am curious where the cut off is, serial number wise. I really love this car and am looking to purchase one soon. It looks like prices have leveled off and the availability is much better now. I did reluctantly take it back to the owner. I will post a pic or two when I get this computer thing figured out (I'm over 50). I hope thats an acceptable excuse. Thanks guys.
This particular car was $180,000 plus tax & lic. It had all the options. He has located another one like it for $185,000 plus tax & lic fully loaded. I have seen some others in the $160-175,000 range. I really wonder what the investment potential is for the long haul. TI
The suspension failures were recalled and corrected. Replacement control arms I believe are now made out of Billet.
This website will help you with price trends etc. These cars are going in the high 150's to the low 160's. http://www.fordgtprices.com/pages/9/index.htm
Thanks KenG, Great web site Thanks for steering me to fordgtprices.com, very informative. This guy has done his homework. It sure pays to take your time and be patient before you make a major purchase you may regret later. I feel much better about finding the right car for the right price. Thanks again. TI
Yea, only one. It was only here for one night as a teaser. I am determined to own one these beautiful cars in the near future. This one belongs to Bob Silva Ford in Chowchilla, CA. Bob is a great guy who wants to sell more of these cars. I just signed him up a membership in SAAC.
GT 40 is the most beautiful car in the world. Ford did the world a favor by building these as street machines.
Last week the local Ford dealer sold a 2005 red GT,fully optioned car for around 154,000.00, prices are coming down. TOUT
Do you want me to start all the way back in Dec 1964 when Mr. Shelby took delivery of his first Ford GT40. Shelby took the GT40 platform and turned it into a very successful race car. It was Shelby's superior engineering, preparation, and drivers that made it what it is today. He is the one responsable for the evolution of the car to the Mk2, Mk2B, Mk4 and finally the J car. He had more to do with the GT than he did with your GTCS. Look at the history dude. Do you know who A.O. Smith is? Yea, they build water heaters.
