what is the proper location for and antenna on a 67. i have seen them on the front right, rear right and even rear left. i would the that the right front would be correct as that was the stock mustang location. but i see pics of tons of so call correctly restored cars that have them on the rear. thanks
#1609 has it rear driver's side, #0017 and some of the other early serial numbered cars have it front passenger side. I've also seen cars with it rear passenger side, so I'm not sure there is an answer. Just based on the photos in the registry, attending the past 8 SAAC conventions, the majority are front passenger side. Bill #1609
It was a dealer decision. If I recall correctly, my 67 GT350 #165 was very early and it was on the right front fender. my 68 GT500 had it on the top of the drivers side rear 1/4 panel.
I checked some pics of the North Carolina show I went to last summer there were 2 original 67 GT 350's there and both the antennas were on the fenders! Mark
The antenna started out on the right front fender and was moved to the rear. Don't know what the time frame was. After 30 years of owning a Shelby I can tell you one thing, and that is..NOTHING is black and white when it comes to a Shelby. Even if you purchased it new, someone will tell you what is incorrect about it. My advice is leave it as it is now. Eventually you will find an article, a picture, a person, or some paperwork that will prove that your's is correct...just my .02...Cheers
I own '67 GT350 #130....Tha antenna was installed in the right rear fender...looks great...orig owner told me , that he had it placed there by the dealer...
I own '67 GT350 #1790 and my antenna is mounted on the right front fender. My 68 GT500 #3188 which I no longer own, had a power antenna mounted on the rear quarter panel- drivers side. I never did figure out if that power antenna was original or not but it did have a Ford part number on it and looked to have been installed many years ago. David
My 67 GT 350 (#0036) has it on the passenger front fender. This was not a Shelby thing, it is a Ford thing. Depended on what the ordering dealer wanted, mostly dependant on state laws about the location.
MY # 2736 CAR HAS IT AT THE RIGHT REAR. It was a special order deal with a dealer installed AM/FM radio as well.
Mine, #2100 is on the left rear and shows no sign of ever being anywhere else. No patch job on fenders or right rear.
