What do you think of the 67 Conv that was the prototype for the 68? I hear they are going to auction it off and want 1.2 mil for the car.

The first? There are others listed in the Registry with the same date or earlier dates aren't there?

YES, The first one sold new to the PUBLIC. It appears to be the 3rd 350 conv. built when checking the Registry. According to their records it is true. We do not want the car misrepresented. ;)

1st built is #00117 shipped to Al Grillo Ford on 1/23/68
2nd built is #00301 shipped to SHELBY AMERICAN 10/27/67
3rd built is #00302 shipped to Fuller Ford on 10/28/67

    Re: 1968 GT350 # 0001 at auction $6000

Well,...it was a few years ago. lol
Reading this reminded me of this1968 GT350 fastback serial # 0001(I might be off with the zeros, anyway it was #1 serial # )with the original bronze or gold paint job. It was at the Warm springs Auction (near San Jose ca.)back in about 78-80 . I believe it sold for 6K.
For some reason I quit bidding at around $5000 I think I was cash poor at time.
Anyone around that remembers it? Wonder where it is now? value?

There seems to be a lot of confusion, first built, first sold, number 0001. I feel comfortable saying number one was not the first built. You can read about the first 1968 cars built on my website. www.1968cobra.com
